Ingredients

Mascarpone Cream

  • 45 ml double cream
  • 20 g mascarpone cheese
  • 1 tablespoon icing sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Latte

  • 230 ml milk 1 cup
  • 30 ml freshly brewed espresso or 2 teaspoons instant coffee mixed with 2 tablespoons hot water
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla syrup or substitute with vanilla extract or sugar, adjusted to taste

Cocoa Dusting

  • ½ teaspoon cocoa powder

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the mascarpone, double cream, vanilla extract, and icing sugar, then whisk until smooth. You can also use a milk frother to mix the ingredients.
  • Make a single shot of espresso using an espresso machine, or mix 2 teaspoons of instant coffee with 2 tablespoons of water.
  • Froth the milk with the vanilla syrup (or sugar/vanilla extract) and add it to the cup with the espresso shot. Alternatively, you can heat the milk in the microwave.
  • Pour the frothed milk into the cup, then top the latte with the homemade mascarpone cream. Finish with a light dusting of cocoa powder.

Notes

Storing Extra Mascarpone Cream
If you want to make a larger batch of mascarpone cream, feel free to double or triple the recipe ingredients. Once prepared, store the cream in an airtight container in the fridge, where it will stay fresh for up to 3 days.
My Top Tips
Before adding the mascarpone cream to your latte, taste the mixture. This is a great opportunity to customize the recipe to suit your preferences, such as adding more icing sugar or a splash of espresso for a bolder flavor.
I prefer using a milk frother to make the mascarpone cream airy and light, which also helps prevent it from sinking to the bottom of the cup.
For a stronger coffee taste, consider adding two espresso shots. If you’re using instant coffee, mix 4 teaspoons of instant coffee with 4 tablespoons of water.
