Mascarpone Cream
- 45 ml double cream
- 20 g mascarpone cheese
- 1 tablespoon icing sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Latte
- 230 ml milk 1 cup
- 30 ml freshly brewed espresso or 2 teaspoons instant coffee mixed with 2 tablespoons hot water
- ½ teaspoon vanilla syrup or substitute with vanilla extract or sugar, adjusted to taste
In a small bowl, combine the mascarpone, double cream, vanilla extract, and icing sugar, then whisk until smooth. You can also use a milk frother to mix the ingredients.
Make a single shot of espresso using an espresso machine, or mix 2 teaspoons of instant coffee with 2 tablespoons of water.
Froth the milk with the vanilla syrup (or sugar/vanilla extract) and add it to the cup with the espresso shot. Alternatively, you can heat the milk in the microwave.
Pour the frothed milk into the cup, then top the latte with the homemade mascarpone cream. Finish with a light dusting of cocoa powder.
