Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 4 medium potatoes thinly sliced (about ⅛ inch thick)
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Optional garnish: fresh parsley chives, or green onions

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef and diced onions until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom. Add the cooked beef mixture on top, then sprinkle half of the cheese. Repeat the layers.
  • Pour the soup mixture evenly over the casserole. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • After 45 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Garnish with parsley, chives, or green onions, if desired.

Notes

Use ground turkey for a leaner alternative.
Incorporate vegetables like peas or carrots for added nutrition.
Make sure the potatoes are thinly sliced to ensure even cooking.
