- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 medium onion diced
- 4 medium potatoes thinly sliced (about ⅛ inch thick)
- 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- Optional garnish: fresh parsley chives, or green onions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the ground beef and diced onions until browned. Drain any excess fat.
In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom. Add the cooked beef mixture on top, then sprinkle half of the cheese. Repeat the layers.
Pour the soup mixture evenly over the casserole. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
After 45 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
Garnish with parsley, chives, or green onions, if desired.
