Ingredients

  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter divided
  • 8 oz 225g package cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • cups 12 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided
  • 1 prepared chocolate cookie pie crust
  • 1 11.75 oz jar hot fudge ice cream topping, such as Smucker’s, divided

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Peanut Butter Filling

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together 1 cup of creamy peanut butter, the softened cream cheese, and the sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and well combined. Gently fold in 3 cups of thawed whipped topping until fully incorporated and fluffy. Spoon the mixture into the prepared chocolate pie crust and use a spatula to smooth it evenly to the edges.

Step 2: Add the Fudge Layer and Chill

  • Scoop out 2 tablespoons of the hot fudge topping and place it into the corner of a resealable plastic bag; set aside for later. Microwave the remaining hot fudge topping on high for about 1 minute or until warm and spreadable. Stir, then pour and spread it evenly over the peanut butter filling, covering it completely. Refrigerate the pie until the fudge layer is fully set, then spread the remaining 1½ cups of whipped topping evenly over the top, being careful not to mix the layers.

Step 3: Decorate and Serve

  • Cut a small corner off the bag containing the reserved hot fudge and drizzle it over the top of the pie. Repeat the process with the remaining 2 tablespoons of peanut butter—either by warming it slightly and placing it in a resealable bag or using a squeezable peanut butter product—and drizzle in the opposite direction for a decorative effect. Chill the pie until ready to serve.
