Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 55 minutes mins
Total Time 1 hour hr
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice rinsed
- 2⅔ cups unsalted chicken broth
- 1 1-ounce packet ranch dressing mix
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
Preheat the oven to 425ºF and spray a 9×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Place all the ingredients into the prepared dish.
Cover the dish securely with aluminum foil.
Bake for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the foil, stir the rice, and bake for an additional 20 to 30 minutes.
Do I need to rinse the rice?
Rinsing the rice helps remove excess starch, keeping the grains separate and fluffy. If you skip this step, the rice may turn out sticky or gummy.
I use long-grain rice. Can I substitute jasmine or basmati rice?
Yes, you can substitute jasmine or basmati rice for long-grain rice. Both will work well in this recipe.
Can I use brown rice?
While I haven't tried this recipe with brown rice, I believe it can work. However, brown rice requires more cooking liquid and a longer cooking time. You may need to adjust the recipe accordingly.
What type of chicken broth should I use?
I recommend using low-sodium or no-salt chicken broth to control the salt content. You can also substitute vegetable or beef broth if you prefer.
